EAST TO WEST

I put these four pictures together in a collage, and I named it EAST TO WEST. It is obvious that what I am presenting in this collage is acculturation. East Asians accepted those typical western countries’ food many years ago, like burgers and fries; and now, people from western countries are also fund of Asian food, like the man eating moon cake in the picture. Food is not a basic daily supply for human beings any more, but also could be a great tool for cultural exchange.

I love your idea of combining the eastern and western together. It is a interesting way to show the progress of civilization.

I agree with you on the last sentence in your post. I think the food became a bridge to connect East and West together as a whole. It gave a chance for people in different region to communicate with each other, and sit down to enjoy same kinds of food.

I like your organization of your collage. You remind me when we first came to OSU, the school held a international welcoming party, and student organizations from all over the world cooked their local meals. Food is really a good tool to get people close.

I agree with your idea. Food surely is a great tool for cultural exchange. By having food from different cultures, we can have chance to think about that culture.
